From 17 to 21 June 2019 the International Scientific and Technical Conference "Non-Destructive Testing Days, 2019" (NDTdays 2019) was held in Sozopol (Bulgaria). The conference was organized by the Bulgarian National Scientific and Technical Society for Flaw Detection (BGSNDT), the Institute of Mechanics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Technical University of Varna.
Traditionally, the conference was opened by Mitko Mihovski (President of the Bulgarian Society for Non-Destructive Testing (BGSNDT) and representatives of the organizing institutes. The conference was attended by more than 300 professionals from more than 10 countries. There was selecting the articles from all submissions by the organizing committee to present at the conference. The conference traditionally hosted an exhibition of modern devices and systems of non-destructive testing, attended by Bulgarian, Romanian and Ukrainian companies in the industry.
The representatives from the department of instruments and systems of non-destructive testing (Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute) participated in the conference with poster and oral presentations. It was prof. Protasov A., prof. Bazhenov V., Lysenko Y. and Kalenichenko Y.
Within the cultural program, the organizers planned concerts with a masterclass on national dance and excursions to the charming ancient city. The 2019 NDT days Conference has already become a traditional meeting place for professionals, academics, Ph.D. students, well-known friends and even alumni of the past years that are working in the field of non-destructive testing and technical diagnostics in Bulgaria.
During the conference, many important issues of non-destructive testing were discussed, and the conference presented to the participants' many new ideas for projects that encourage creative pursuits.
